I have known Theresa for several years primarily through my role as advisor to Circle K International (CKI), a student service organization at West Chester University. ‘The main goal of this group is for the members to offer assistance to others in need through volunteering their personal time. In this regand, the lit of accomplishments and amount of volunteer work that Theresa has participated in is quite impressive. She has worked with the Salvation Army food drive, the annual Circle K volleyball charity fundraiser, Read Across America, Light the Night walk, Good Cause Cafe, and hanging of the greens just to name a few. Many of the events that our student members attend are previously arranged so that the students simply show up and volunteer, bnt there is also a significant need for leadership in the organization and this isa role Theresa welcomes and rarely evades, | recognized Theresa’s desire to become an active participant and leader in the organization almost immediately. She has taken leadership and planning roles in many of the events within the organization such as in the volleyball tournament which has become the hallmark fundraising program for CK ‘Theresa has also served as the editor for the newsletter and has done so with distinction having eamed multiple awards for her efforts. She has served as the vice president of CKI and editor of the student ‘newspaper, positions which have enhanced her leadership skills. Theresa has worked with Daedalus, our West Chester University literary magazine, and is involved with the Golden Ram Society as a student ambassador for the WCU Foundation. The list of Theresa's involvement is almost too long to cite but it is abundantly evident to me that she is exceptionally motivated, organized, and dedicated to others. “Theresa is intelligent as reflected in her outstanding GPA, articulate, and an exceptional writer. The work that she has done with the CKI newsletter and her on-going contributions to The Quad, the WCU student newspaper, further illustrates her developing skills as a talented writer. One of the leadership attributes that Theresa often displays in our meetings is her willingness to jump into planning sessions and even to take the lead when the situation requires her active participation. Her peers respect her opinion and appreciate the effort that Theresa extends on a regular basis because she most definitely makes the ‘organization stronger through her many contributions. I don’t believe it’s even possible to speals too highly of Ms, Theresa Kelly, I find her to be a pleasure to be around duc to her warm and engaging personality. [have been involved in higher education for over 35 years so have a good idea of which students are most likely to be successful contributors to society upon theit graduation from West Chester University and { would easily place Theresa in that category.
