Course Objectives:
MIS 201 is an introductory level course, and prerequisite for all the MIS courses. This course focus on how
to use and manage a variety of information technologies to revitalize business processes, improve managerial
decision making, and gain competitive advantage. It also supports enterprise collaboration among the
networked enterprises in todays global business environment.

Attendance Policy:
According to the universitys policy, all the students are required to attend at least 75% of the classes;
otherwise, they will not be allowed to write their final exam. Attendance will be taken in every lecturer.
Students are requested to attend all the classes.
Attendance will be taken in the first 5 minutes of the class. If the students are not present by that time, then
they will not get the attendance for the class.
Cheating Policies:
Use of any cell phones, digital diaries or any other unauthorized material is strictly prohibited. Students
caught cheating in the quizzes and exams will be reported to the Supervisor of Department of Management
Information Systems.
Assessments:
Attendance 5 Points
Project 10 Points
Assignment:
During the duration of the semester, 4 assignments will be conducted. Each assignment will cover 2 chapters.
Each assignment will be of 100 points each. The average of best 3 assignments will be considered.
The exact composition of the assignments will vary. However, an assignment will have a composition of
multiple choice, fill in the blank, true/ false and short answers.
Quizzes:
During the duration of the semester, 4 quizzes will be conducted. Each quiz will cover 2 chapters. Each quiz
will be of 100 points each. The average of best 3 quizzes will be considered. Quizzes will have a mix of fill
in the blanks, multiple choice questions, true/false questions and short answer questions and essay question.
