Lesson idea implementation: The role of big data is vital in the science classroom. With this lesson
I want to introduce students to big data. Here big data refers to any data set that would require a
computer based program to run, such as Excel. The students will have to go to resources I provide
about pH in rivers in GA: Which river is the most basic? Which river is the most acidic? Pick one of
the rivers to study further. For the river they chose they need to gather data and determine the average
pH for each month and graph the information using Excel.
