Island peak climbing

Island peak climbing is at the top of the imja khola valley in khumbu region. This is just above the
summer settlement of chhukung, surrounded by the imja, Lhotse and Lhotse shar glaciers. It offers a
worthwhile challenging to the experienced winter mountaineer. island peak competent in using ice axe
and crampons. Being technically straight forward, the most difficult section being a mixed rock and ice
wall. Likewise, this is at the slope of around 45 degrees leading to the narrow summit ridge. The climb will
operate at the end of a trek when everyone is fully able to play with altitude. Island peak is named Island
peak in 1952 ad by a climbing team of Eric shipton. It is because of its striking locations in the middle of
the chhukung valley. Like as island on a sea of ice.
Island peak is first ascended in 1953 by a British team as preparation for climbing Everest. Island peak
climbing trips fulfills the dream of every amateur and serious climber, who is seeking the thrill
adventures. It is for those people who wishes to take adventure trips beyond simply trekking in
Everest.Island peak is the most popular trekking in Nepal. The summit is interesting and attractive with a
highly glaciated west face rising from the Lhotse glaciers.
Island peak climbing is starting with a sightseeing activities in Kathmandu valley. Before briefing about
climbing you will visit Bouddhanath, pashupatinath, swyambhunath. Likewise, Bhaktapur durbar square
and Kathmandu durbar square is also an important place to see. After having a training in island peak
base camp the next morning people start climbing. We will start to descend along the imja khola to
dingbochea and head back to Namcha bazaar after us successes the climbing. likewise, on the way back
to Kathmandu you will feel proud to get the victory on 6000 m mountain.
Short Itinenary

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu (1300m)


Day 02: Kathmandu sightseeing and preparation.
Day 03: Fly Lukla(2880m) and Trek to Phakding (2652m)-3 hrs
Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazzar (3444m)-6 hrs
Day 05: Acclimatization Day in Namche.
Day 06: Trek to Tengbochea (3860m)-6 hrs
Day 07: Trek to Ferichea (4243m)-4 hrs.
Day 08: Trek to Laubecha (4940m)-5 hrs
Day 09: Laubecha to Gorekshap (5170m)-Everest base camp trek (5364m)-Back to Gorekshap-9 hrs.
Day 10: Gorekshap-Kalapather (5550m)-Dingbochea (4360m).8hrs
Day 11: Dingbochea to Chhukung- 3 hrs.
Day 12: chhukung to Island peak base camp (5200m)-6hrs
Day 13: Island peak base camp to High camp (5600m)-4hrs
Day 14: Island peak summit (6189m) back to chhukung.
Day 15: chhukung to tengbochea-7 hrs-6hrs
Day 16: Trek to Nemchabazar
Day 17: Trek to lukla-8hrs.
Day 18: Fly to Kathmandu.
Day 19: Rest day in Kathmandu.
Day 20: Final Departure.
