Youmaythinkoftheroleofyourthesisstatementwith thefollowingparable.Yourgood
qualitythesisstatementfunctionslikeastreetmapforatravelerinafirsttimevisittoabigcity.The
traveler(yourreader)wantstogettoPointA (fullandcorrectunderstandingofthewriting),butPoint
Aisnotclearly shownonthecitystreetmap(partsofthecomposition).
Thetravelerneedstobetoldbysomeone(youthewriter)whoknowsthecity well (thewhole
