Members Present: Carolyn, Monica, Carol, Beth, Sarah Spernak

Guest Speakers: Chuck Swann and Paul Neiswonger, City of Bend Streets & Opera,ons
Chuck and Paul provided a nice presenta,on for approximately an hour. They provided a detailed
descrip,on on current and future road improvement ac,vi,es. They provided the following handouts:
Street Preserva,on Projects 2017 map; Revenue in Street & Opera,ons Fund, FY 2017-2018 Proposed
Budget; Payment Condi,on & Life of Street diagram.

2. Board Elec,on Carolyn


Carolyn moved to approve 2017/2018 the following ocer assignments below and the Board
approved the mo,on.

f. NART Monica (usually on second Thursday of Month 4-5; Carolyn will help when

3. Discussion about General Membership Mee,ng - Carolyn

a. Informa,onal Tables (feedback good; speed sign input Carolyn will submit soon; Ne
Purcell obstructs sign about lighted intersec,on); some signs do not work at ,mes. We
received many good recommenda,ons. Carolyn: Lets brainstorm groups we want to
invite next year

b. Survey Results
Beth: Good ideas sec,on 4 for topics next year
Focus topics to consider during our monthly mee,ngs and adver,se to those (e.g. our
roads mee,ng with city today).

c. Next years mee,ng date


Maybe move to Ensworth Elementary; more room and custodial sta can help; we can
consider ren,ng well in advance; plan to get dates and pricing and recommend next
month (Carol will inves,gate for next month).

4. Civic Equity Project (CEP) update Carol

Wed is rst mee,ng with cohorts. Carol, Beth, Carolyn and Monica will meet tomorrow at
common ground to decide priori,es for MVNA.
5. Trac Report Beth
The trac safety advisory commihee council moving slow. They did get trac counts and Beth
provided trac count docs and suggested that we invite them to provide interpreta,on of the
data. Beth to contact Nick and Robin to come to next mee,ng with safe passages at next month
mee,ng.

6. Bend Parks & Rec Report Monica


The Big Sky park located at the corner of Hamby and Ne Roads at 21690 NE Ne Rd is a
$250,000 project that is currently in permilng phase. The plan is the park will have a bike park,
BMX facility, lihle league eld, a 1.5-mile Cyclocross (CX) and cross country running course and
Radio-controlled (R/C) car track for electric-powered vehicles only (no air vehicles).

Eagle Park is a 4-acre park located on Crystal Springs Avenue o of Eagle Road, 3 blocks south of
the intersec,on of Butler Market road and Eagle Road. It is a 1.1 million dollar project. It is
currently under construc,on and scheduled to open Fall 2017. There was extensive public
outreach via survey and public hearing to gather the desires the community had for the park.
The plan is that the park will have natural and man-made play areas in what appears to be a
larger version of Canal Row Park.

7. NART Report Carolyn


Nothing to report. There have been no mee,ngs for two months. Aubrey Buhe NA is
recons,tu,ng. They are new and had over 100 people at their mee,ng. They have a big board.

8. Charter Review Commihee Carolyn


Perhaps Bridgehe or Sarah can volunteer? Sarah said she will consider and may apply.

9. Lets Sweep and Trim Carolyn


Brian Douglas with Advocates for Disabled Americans posted on Nextdoor and in a newspaper
press release declara,on of July 1, 2017 as rst annual Lets Sweep and Trim Together Day in
the City of Bend. The purpose of the eort is to help ensure our city sidewalks and ADA curb
ramps are clear and safe for those with disabili,es.
