memory. Please discuss this.

According to Frost Alan(2010)

Organisations Memory-Organisational memory comprises of the collection of the knowledge


with reference to past decisions.Organisational memory can also be called as Corporate memory
or Institutional memory.

Organisational memory consists of experiences,personal intuition,intelligence and ingenuity


achieved throughout the many years.This memory can be buttoned up by the behaviour and
documentation of the organisation.Oragnisational memory can be altered by gaining new
experiences and exploration.

According to Heathfield M.Susan(2016)

Yes,CEO and other corporate leaders are the keepers of the organisations memory because of
the following reasons:

The CEO of the company and others corporate leaders are responsible for leading the
company.Because they focus on strategy making,accountability and organisational
design.The CEO and others corporate leaders are liable for the equilibrium of the
companys resources.Here,the resources are in terms of manpower and finance.Both of
the resources are managed with great attention for succession of the company.
The CEO and other corporate leaders plays significant role in building the organisational
through their past experiences and daily routines in order to keep the organisational
memory.Organisational memory is mirrored in terms of organisational procedures and
culture and daily basis routine.
The CEO act as an intermediary between the Management of the organisation and Board
of Directors.The CEO conveys the important information to the Board from the side of
management for the implementation of the plans i.e long term plans and short term plans
to control the activities ethically and legally.The other corporate leaders always evaluate
the risks of the company by using historic information.
The CEO and other corporate leaders recommend the Board with their good
ideas,endorse the organisation,encourage the organisational plans and programs and look
forward for the future opportunities.They communicate efficiently with
Board,Government,Shareholders,Public and Employees of the organisation for the
inspection of the operations of the organisation.
The CEO and other corporate leaders are contributing their major roles in decision
making so as to reach at utmost position in terms of efficient performance of the
organisation.Because they both keep the intellectual capital for preparing and
implementing the organisational strategy for communicating the organisation
mission,vision and its direction.This can be done by keeping the organisational memory
which can be achieved via the Experiential learning.

Hence,The CEO and other corporate leaders are play an important role in keeping the
organisational memory because organisational memory based on intuitions and
experiences.
