and education, faculty of literature, faculty of law, faculty of engineering, faculty of
agriculture, faculty of animal husbandry, faculty of arts, faculty of mathematics and
natural sciences, faculty of veterinary medicine, faculty of economics, and faculty of

most of the faculties moved here and the rest still in Denpasar.
Ladies and gentleman, as you know Bali famous for its culture that has close
relationship with their religion, Hindu. The Balinese people have a philoshopy called
Tri Hita Karana, Tri means Three, Hita means Happiness, and Karana means Cause,
so if we arranged that three words together it means the three causes of happiness.
They live in harmony with God, Human, and Environment. They also believe that
everything that exists in this world as a duality called Rwa Bhineda, the postif and
negatif one, they believe that Human take the responsibility to keep that two in
balance.
Now, we are turn left and entering the one of the highway in Bali called
Bypass Ngurah Rai street. If we turn right we wil arrive in Nusa Dua area. There are
so many tourist attractions such as Nusa Dua beach, Tanjung Benoa water sport and
many others. There is also called
Ladies and gentleman, we are still in Badung Regency, one of the eight regencies and
one city in Bali. badung regency is famous for its beaches. There are so many beach
here, such as Muaya beach which located in Kedonganan which has a beautiful sunset
scenery, Pandawa beach which located in Kutuh village, south kuta, it called pandawa
because in there we can see the statue of Panca Pandawa brothers who were populer in
Mahabhrata story. Next, there are Kuta beach and Nusa Dua beach which very populer
among the tourist and many more beaches that has its own characteristics.
Ladies and gentleman, as you know Bali is very populer in the world. Bali has
so many tourist attraction. There are three kind of tourist attraction that we know.
Natural, Cultural and the combination between that two. Bali has it all, from the
Natural until the combination of those two. Bali is a perfect place to visit beacuse you
can see the Natural resources combine with the unique cultural of Bali. There are so
many ritual ceremonies, festivals, and arts that Bali had.
Ladies and gentleman, now we are going to pass the Dewa Ruci statue, this
statue told us the story when Bhima, one of the Panca Pandawa brothers in
Mahabharata story looked for the life holy water that told by his teacher, Rsi Drona.
He told Bhima to search it on the ocean, in there Bhima found a dragon who wanted to
kill him by coil around his body but after he embeded his nail on the dragon body and
killed back the dragon, after the dragon dead, the ocean was happy and suddenly a
very small man who look like Bhima named Dewa Ruci came. He told Bhima to get in
to his ear, Bhima thought that was imposibble but he still tried to do that and succesed
to get in. Inside the Dewa Ruci body, Bhima was told by Dewa Ruci that the life holy
water was a lie and all the things that he done because of the teacher order was
nothing. And he wont learn anything from this trip, because Bhima already capable in
those knowledge and theres nothing he would searched for, because the key to do
something is we must done it seriously from our heart.
Ladies and gentleme a few later we going to pass sesetan village. Sesetan
village famous for Omed-omedan tradition. The tradition originate from a fight
between a male and female pig that took place in the village hundreds of years ago. A
represent the push and pull of positive and negative elements. Omed-omedan, which
means pulling, is a ceremony for the youths of the village to express their joy on the
first day of the new year. Males and females stood side by side of the village main
road while waiting the signal of Hindu leader then both sides approached the center of
the road. Male participants pulled and kissed the female participants while other
villagers poured buckets of water towards them. This ritual had been around for at
least 100 years and could only be participated in by the people of Banjar Kaja Sesetan
village, and it is not clear when mass kissing was incorporated into the Bali tradition.
Actually, this tradition is one of a great way to find a boyfriend or girlfriend. Many
couples are succeed to enter their marriage by joining this tradition, said a participant
in the ceremony. The pecalang opened with a prayer while traditional village guards
secured the area.
Ladies and gentlemen a few minutes later we going to Sanur. Sanur is one of
Bali's biggest traditional villages but it's also one of the most established tourist areas.
Sanur was Bali's first beach resort but still retains its Balinese character and old style
village ambiance. On the southeastern side of Bali, Sanur beach is easily reachable
from Denpasar, about a 5 to 10 minute drive. Sanur is an excellent site to watch the
sun rises, as we jog along the white sandy beach. Being one of the first resorts
developed in Bali, Sanur maintains its traditions. Only a stone thrown away from the
beach, ancient temples stand as solemn as they have been in centuries past.
Palm-lined beach, facing the Indian Ocean towards the east, Sanur is an
excellent place to see the sun rise in the morning. "Bali is the morning of the world", it
is the right sentence for Bali if we has visited Sanur. Offshore reefs protect the beach
against the waves, and make it popular for windsurfing, boating, and other water
sports. It is one of the first areas where one can find good hotels, restaurants, shops,
and other tourist facilities. It's also the place for some of Bali chic fashion shops, hot
hotels and well-known restaurants. It is a good location to explore the rest of Bali.
Fine hotels, restaurants and modern entertainment venues complement traditional
village activities like drama and dance, so it's a good place to enjoy the delights of a
tropical island and gain a real appreciation of Balinese culture and local life. Gradual
and early development has meant that Sanur has grown alongside the village, with
hotels located right next door to local meeting halls and Brahmanic temples. Many
hotels have expansive gardens that face the ocean in a picturesque unbroken seaside
promenade.
Ladies and gentlemen a few minutes later we going to pass Padang Galak.
Padang Galak is famous for kite festival on july august. The Bali Kite Festival is an
annual international kite festival held in July in Padang Galak area, Sanur Beach, Bali.
Traditional giant kites (4 metres in width and almost 10 metres in length) are made
and flown competitively by teams from the villages (banjar) of Denpasar. The event is
a seasonal religious festival intended to send a message to the Hindu gods to create
abundant crops and harvests. The teams consist of about 70 to 80 people, each team
with its own Gamelon band, flag bearers and flyers. Bebean (fish-shaped), Janggan
(bird-shaped) and Pecukan (leaf-shaped) are three traditional kites flown during this
kite festival. The kites are flown by teams of 10 or more adult kitefliers. The Bebean is
the largest kite, and looks like a broad-mouthed, split-tailed fish. The Janggan form
has a broad flowing cloth tail that can reach more than 100 metres in length. The
Pecukan requires the most skill to fly, as its unstable form often tumbles towards the
ground. Red, white and black are traditional colours used in the kite's designs. Each
type of traditional kite has its own competition, with heats of 10 teams vying for the
best launch and longest flight. Sometimes the kites come down over the adjacent rice
paddies, and the team members have to dash through the paddy to rescue the kite
before it lands in the water. A competition is also held for 'New Creation' (kreasi baru)
kites which may include detailed three-dimensional figures representing the Hindu
Gods or sponsorship kites. Traditional and new creation kites are constructed from
bamboo and cotton cloth. In the dry season of June through August, the winds blow
continually from east to west in most of Indonesia. Balinese children and adults fly
kites in the vacant rice paddies during this period. A gamelan orchestra plays music
throughout the festival. The festival attracts many tourists and international kitefliers,
along with many local spectators.
Ladies and gentlemen a few minutes later we going to Titi Banda statue. Can
you see it ? look at over there. Titi Banda Statue was created inspired by the story of
wayang Ramayana. Titi statue Banda Sri Rama tells leaders who build bridges Titi
Banda in the middle of the sea with the troops Wanara (ape) who will pick up his
wives, Dewi Shinta, who became a prisoner of the king of Lanka Ravana in the

by the troops of monkeys that were able to build a bridge even if it means crossing the
ocean, as well as the love of Rama and Sita.

must be the best-known beach in Gianyar. It has good waves for surfing and an
abundance of tasty seafood served along the shore. Visitors can also enjoy the row of
thousands of traditional boats moored along the beach, the scene being especially
attractive in the morning. The row of the unique boats on the black sands is very
beautiful when seen from a distance.

such as cassava leaves, then baked while playing around (overthrow-roll) until cooked.

The state of Karangasem, on the island of Bali, was in existence by the middle of the
seventeenth century century. The dynasty claims descent from the last Mahapajit
Governor of Bali at the time of the collapse of that Empire. The state became powerful
during the late seventeenth century, conquering the neighbouring Lombok and
establishing several principalities on that island. During the last years of the next
century, Gusti Gede Ngurah Karangasem [Devata Tohpati], extended control over
Buleleng.
The state was conquered by the Raja of Mataram, a collateral relative in 1839.
The next ruler, Gusti Ged Ngurah Made Karangasem, accepted Dutch sovereignty over
his realm in 1841, but later repudiated this, along with the other Balinese Rajas.
Karangasem and Buleleng suffered completed defeat at Dutch hands during the Lombok
War in 1849. The Dutch then annexed the state to the Ratu Agung of Salaparang, their
ally. He appointed two of his nephews as successive Regents of Karangasem. After the
defeat and extinction of Salaparang in 1893, the Dutch re-established the Karangasem
principality under the ruler of the late Regent's family. However, full self-rule did not
follow until 1938. The principality acceded to the Indonesian Republic in 1950, but the
Raja continued to reign as nominal Raja until his death in 1991. His younger brother
succeeded him as Head of the Royal House, but his installation, according to traditional
custom, did not follow. Ladies and gentlemen now we are arrived in parking area

Out of all the nuts available in Bali, the coconut is hands-down the best nut on the
island. Not only does it serve as a refreshing drink but it has many other practical uses!
In fact, the Balinese use coconuts a lot in their daily lives from ceremonies to serving
up an icy cool cup of coconut ice to tackle a long hot day.
The coconut (Cocos nucifera) is a widely cultivated plant in Indonesia. From one end
to the other end of Indonesia, there is never a shortage of coconut trees. In Bali,
coconut trees can found all over the place, from farms to the coast. The coconuts
ubiquity has made it an essential nut in the lives of the Balinese, where the entire
coconut tree can be used for different purposes.
Lets start with the nut. Coconuts are famous for their refreshing and nutritious water.
Coconut water is high in potassium and sugar which makes it a great drink to quench
thirst. In Bali, coconut water is often believed to have spiritually cleansing powers
therefore it is used in purification ceremonies. The young green coconut is a favorite
for making a cool drink known as es kelapa muda. Its basically the flesh of the
coconut submerged in coconut water and given some palm sugar. Sweet! The older
fruits which are yellow and brown also have their uses. Yellow coconuts are often
used in ceremonies as the water can be used for purification and a basis for holy water.
Brown coconut shells can be used for kindling while the fibers can be used to make
rope or other crafts. Coconut shells also make fun toys for children! Aside from drinks
and toys people also extract coconut oil for a lot of uses by creating it into cooking,
perfume, or massage oil.
Now, lets get onto the leaves. Coconut leaves are an integral part in Balinese religious
life as a majority of offerings are crafted with coconut leaves. Young green coconut
leaves are used for a wide variety of offerings, from the small canang to the larger
penjor; whereas old leaves can be used to construct ceremonial structures. Old coconut
leaves are also used to make baskets that men use to carry around their roosters or
chickens.
Last but not least the trunks of the coconut tree (or as the Balinese say) valuable
timber. Timber from coconut trees can be used in construction, arts and crafts, and in
many other areas.
Seeing that the coconut tree has many uses in Balinese life, its no wonder that the
Balinese just love their coconuts.
Well ladies and gentlemen we are arrive at your Hotel. Please nothing left behind in
the bus and recheck your belongings. If everything is okay You can board off the bus
please mind your head and watch your step. Thank you so much again and See you
next time.
