Presidential Notebook Project

Required for AP

Use a composition notebook to create a Presidential Notebook for all the presidents. Please put your name
and period on the cover of your notebook! ALL WORK MUST BE HAND WRITTEN AND LEGIBLE.
Any typed work will be returned and no credit as in NONE! They will be done in groups of approximately 10
presidents and counted 500 daily points( 5 daily grades in one!). ALL OR NOTHING!!! Please include the
following information and be sure to highlight or underline key specific facts as well as date them when
possible you will have a president quiz.
Make sure to include a table of contents. Students will be quizzed on information from this notebook.
Notebook will also serve as a great source before the unit tests and the AP Exam.

For each president entry should include:

1. The name and picture of the president


2. Highlights of his background- place of birth, education, profession, offices held military service (if any)
and political party.
3. Year(s) elected and years served.
4. Election opponents & campaign issues & campaign slogans.
5. His vice-presidnet(s) * if had one.
6. One or two important advisors associated with his administration, especially top cabinet members (not
every cabinet member is important.)
7. Break down the major domestic issues, legislation, and events by his term in office if he served more
than one term!
8. Important Supreme Court decisions during his administration.
9. Major foreign policy issues and events (include treaties and wars) again by term.
10. Unique & fun fact- only child, later served in the Supreme Court, ambidextrous, had a pet alligator,
youngest ever elected etc.
11. President firsts (for example. The first to be elected from a state that was not one of the original
thirteen states.)

Each batch of presidents will be worth 500 daily points

You will be quizzed on the notebook for presidential information throughout the year.
