Letter of Introduction

Directions:

For this assignment, we are asking you to write a letter of introduction telling us about
yourself. The following is a sampling of what we would like to know about you. Please use
the following paragraph format and include most, if not all, of the following information.

Paragraph # 1

Your personal history:

Include background information about yourself- where/when you were born, family
members/siblings, family history, ethnic background, pets, places you have lived etc. Also
include an interesting fact about yourself.

Paragraph #2

Your current AND most recent history:

Include your extracurricular activities in and out of school- sports, hobbies, travel, types of
books, movies, television, music, etc. you enjoy, any part-time jobs you have had, your favorite
school subject, your most favorite and least favorite school subject, your academic strengths
and challenges, personal strengths, personal challenges, summer activities and travel, etc.


Paragraph #3

Your future academic goals AND personal goals:

Include what you would like to achieve this year, what you hope to achieve during your four
years at Newton North, what you would like to achieve10 years from now.

Paragraph #4

Wrap up (summarize) the main points of the above three paragraphs AND think about what
all the information tells about the type of person youanalyze the information!

A few tips to help you earn the best grade possible:
o use standard letter format (Dear Ms. Liesman and Mr. Drake,)
o use proper paragraph format
o use proper sentence structure and mechanics
o make your writing flow- dont answer the questions in list form
o be sure to TYPE your letter
