VESSELS REQUIRING TO
ANCHOR IN A SAFE LOCATION

All marine (Saudi Aramco or Contractor) vessels engaged in Saudi Aramco offshore
operations are permitted to anchor in designated anchorages. These anchorages are
clearly marked on the Saudi Aramco Charts provided.

All marine captains (Saudi Aramco or Contractor) are required to plot their vessels
anchorage position on the chart and record that position and the time of anchoring in
the Deck Log-book. Bridge watches must be maintained and the vessels position
must be checked at regular intervals. Any anchor adjustments or changes in the
vessels position must be recorded in the Deck Log-book.

Only, Anchor Handling Rig Supply Vessels will be permitted to anchor at the Rig
location within the designated area previously agreed upon in the Rig-Move
meeting and approved by the Producing Department.

In reference to this particular subject, all marine captains (Saudi Aramco or


Contractor) are required to read, understand and follow:

Marine Instruction MIM 1185.002 Reporting Procedures and Documentation


for the Safe Operation of all vessels
Marine Instruction MIM 1198.001 OIM 1.519 Work Around Offshore Producing
Facilities.
Marine Loss Prevention Program Section 6.0 Operating Standards

Unless in an absolute emergency, no vessel is permitted to anchor


within a Saudi Aramco Oilfield.
