25 kV Traction Overhead Equipment
Specification for Copper Bus-Bar
1. Scope

1.1 This specification covers the requirements of solid copper bus

bars for use on 25 kV traction overhead equipment.

2. Governing specification:

2.1 The copper bus bars shall generally conform to the Indian
Standard Specification IS 613 (latest version). This I.S. specification
is hereafter referred to as the governing specification and the
provisions of this governing specification shall be applied in the
manner altered, amended or supplemented by the following clauses.

3. Size.

3.1 Solid copper bus bars covered by this specification shall be

circular in profile and of diameter 18 mm.

3.2 The rods may be ordered either in random lengths ranging from
4.5 to 4.75 metres or in exact lengths.

4. Temper

4.1 The rods shall be supplied in medium hard temper.

5. Delivery

5.1 The rods shall be suitably hundled and securely packed in

strong wooden crates to enable transport without damage or bending.
