Sarrita King

There is so much beauty in this world and its hard to capture

it all, but I can try. (Sarrita King)

Born in Adelaide South Australia in 1988, Sarrita King is the

younger daughter of renowned indigenous artist William King
Jungala, and younger sister to celebrated indigenous artist
Tarisse King.

The stylistic influences of both daughters are a direct result of

the stories, philosophies and ideals of their father William and
the dramatic land and weather-scapes of the Northern
Territory where much of Sarritas childhood was enjoyed. Putting her degree in Journalism on hold, Sarrita
decided to paint full-time and take advantage of the South Australian influence that was also a part of her.

Representative of the traditional indigenous artists and their spiritual depictions, Sarrita has also been
acclaimed as the contemporary indigenous forebear and harbinger of a new era.

Sarrita has had major exhibitions shown in Paris, Canada and other cultural centres. Her current artistic
expression and output is a modern revelatory icon of how influential and effectual indigenous art can be.

My works try to capture philosophies and elements of life that everyone can relate to and feel a connection to.
This brings the viewer into the artwork and helps them to understand Aboriginal culture. (Sarrita King)
