PATHWAY TO BECOME A LICENCED AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE ENGINEER


WITH A BACHELOR DEGREE OPTION

The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) is a European Union (EU) agency with regulatory and executive tasks in the
field of civilian aviation safety. An aircraft engineer with EASA 147 Licence has international recognition and employment
opportunities in worldwide airlines and MROs. Conversion of licence required

Stage 5 Chief Engineer


With years of aviation experience with various aircraft type rating
An engineer is qualified to become a category C licence chief engineer or aviation consultant

Masters Degree MBA

Stage 4 Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer


Registered licence with local civil aviation authority to certify the airworthiness of aircraft
EASA licence is internationally recognised which be converted to local aviation licence

Stage 3 Airlines or MROs (Maintenance, Repairs, and Overhauls) Organisations


2 years aircraft maintenance experience in airlines or MROs is required
EASA 147 regulation to become a qualified licence engineer

Aviation Degree

Stage 2 Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Training


Diploma/EASA 147 Part 66 Cat B1 Mechanical or B2 Avionics Engineering
Complete aircraft engineering course single 1 or dual 2 years at approved EASA 147 aviation training oganisation
You have an option to do a degree before going into the aviation employment industry or do later after obtaining
your licence and experience

Stage 1 - Secondary School


Minimum entry requirements School Certificate. Credits in English, Maths and Science
