Shading

The distance between buildings which are contained rooms designed for people, should be enable
natural light of these rooms which can be done if:
1. Between the arms of an angle of 60 , defined in the horizontal plane, with the apex in
the inner facing the wall on the axis of the window of the room being overlapped, there
is no overhanging part of the same building
or another building less than:
a) Shading height - for shading objects up to 35 m high,
b) 35 m - for shading objects over 35 m high;
2. The shading height is measured from the lower edge of the lowest building windows
overlapped to the highest shading edge of the shading object or its shadowing part.
3. The location of the obstructing object (like a mast, chimney, tower or other building,)
at a distance of not less than 10 m from the window of the room is allowed overlaid,
without limiting its height, but with a shading width of no more than 3 m, measuring it
parallel to the plane of the window.
4. Distances referred to in sec. 1 point 1( a) b)), may be reduced by no more than half in
the downtown area.

2. Sunlight

1. The room intended for the stay of people should be provided with daylight, adjusted to It`s
destination, shape and size, taking into account the conditions set out in 13 and in the general
provisions occupational safety and hygiene.
2. In the room intended for the stay of people, the ratio of window area, measured in the light of the
frames, to the floor surface should be at least 1: 8, but in another room where daylight Is required for
reasons of purpose - at least 1:12.

1.Premises intended for the collective stay of children in nursery, kindergartens and schools, except A
chemical, physical and plastic workshop, should have a sun exposure time of at least 3 hours On the
equinox days (21 March and 21 September) 8:00-16:00 hours, while the living room 7:00-17:00
hours.
2. In a multi-room apartment, the requirement of paragraph 1 to at least one

1.The living and kitchen area should have direct daylight lighting.
2. In a one-room apartment, a kitchen room without a window or a combined kitchen niche is allowed
with an anesthetic, provided at least ventilation:
- Gravitational - in the case of electric cookers;
- Mechanical exhaust - in the case of gas cookers.
3. In a multi-room apartment, the kitchen can be part of a room for daily living provided

4. Livable surface and dimensions in apartments

5. Balconies, loggias, windows

1.Balustrade stairs, ramps, portfolios, balconies and loggias should not be sharply finished, and their
design should ensure the transfer of horizontal forces specified in the Polish Standard Concerning
basic technological and assembly burdens. Height and filling of vertical planes Should provide
effective protection against falling out. Glass balustrade components should be made of glass with
increased impact resistance, smashing to fine, blurred fragments
2. The height and clearance or holes in the balustrades should have the dimensions specified below :
For multifamily buildings and residence, collective education and upbringing and healthcare facilities
- Minimum height balustrade, measured to Top of the railing (m)- 1,1m
- Maximum clearance or dimension hole between the elements balustrade filling (m) 0,12m
Others buildings:
- Minimum height balustrade, measured to Top of the railing (m)- 1,1m
- Maximum clearance or dimension hole between the elements balustrade filling (m) 0,2m
4. For balustrades or walls adjacent to the ramp, intended for the traffic of the disabled, should use
double-sided handrails placed at 0.75 and 0.9 m from the plane of movement.
5. Handrails at external stairs and ramps must be extended by 0.3 m before and after their start and
end and finish in a manner that ensures safe use.
6.Handrails at stairs and ramps should be spaced from the walls to which they are fixed, at least 0,05
m.

Windows in height buildings, on floors above 55 m above the ground, should have security features to
open them only by persons authorized by the owner or manager of the building

1.In the building on the floors located below 25 m above the ground the distance between the upper
edge the inner window sill and the floor should be at least 0.85 m, with the exception of the ground
floor and the window sills in loggia, on the terrace or gallery where it is not subject to restrictions.
2. In a building on levels above 25 m above the ground between the top edge of the window sill and
the floor must be at least 1.1 m apart, except for windows in loggias, terraces or galleries.
3. The height of the window sill, as defined in sec. 1 and 2 may be reduced, subject to application
secure the balustrade window to the required height or use it in this part of the unopened window and

1. In buildings above 25 m above the ground, balconies are prohibited. This does not apply to
balconies of technological purpose

logs above 55 m above the ground is forbidden.
3. In buildings above 12 m, but not higher than 25 m above the ground, can be used
Portfolios, provided they have thresholds of at least 0.15 m.
