Step 1: Pre-Instructional Activities

5-7 minutes- Turn on the video Night of the Context Clues.

Step 2: Content Presentation

15- 20 minutes- Have the students work through the Around the World in 80 days passage with you.

Step 3: Learner Participation

3- 4 minutes- Monitor the class to ensure that all are filling out their worksheets with you.

Step 4: Assessment

10- 15 minutes- Have the students complete the worksheet called, Story of an Eyewitness (see Appendix E)

with a partner. The students will correct their worksheets using a highlighter.

Step 5: Follow-Through Activities

4- 5 minutes- Have each student go use the context clues quizlet and play one game on the website.
