Welcome to the Century 21 Mountainview team, Ben Euerby!

A musician and avid gardener, I am born and bred the fourth generation of my
family to live in the West Kootenay. Growing up in South Slocan, I spent weekends
up at my grandparents place up the hill in Pass Creek. I had a rich childhood
exploring the woods and developing a deep love and connection to this area. Af-
ter graduating from Mt. Sentinel Secondary School, I spent 7 years in Vancouver
where my 2 daughters Scarlet (13) and Autumn (10) were born. They, along
with my very supportive and loving wife Jake Van Camp and recently graduated
step daughter Raine, are the lights of my life.
Pursuing my passion for and understanding of the area, I am now entering into a
career in Real Estate, teaming up with my dad, Brian Euerby, who has been selling
real estate in the West Kootenay for 27 years. With our honest, open, approachable
and trustworthy quality of service, we strive to bring calm and sense to every real

Mathieu Paul Beaudet 1983 ~ 2017

On Saturday, June 3rd 2017, 33 year old
Mathieu Paul Beaudet, formerly from Castlegar,
BC, passed away peacefully with his family by his
side. He fought a long and hard battle with a rare
form of cancer (synovial sarcoma) to be present as
long as he could be for his family and his children.
Matt will always be remembered for his
beautiful spirit, his love for the outdoors, his
trademark laughter, and his positive attitude
towards life and everyone he ever met. He was
an inspiration, a bright light and will continue to
shine above forever. He will be greatly missed by
everyone he touched.
Matts courage throughout his journey
reminded us all of the preciousness of life and
how important it is to live and love in the moment.
His family and friends know Matt would send a
huge thank you to all who supported him and his
family on this difficult journey.
A Celebration of Life for Matt will be held on
Sunday, August 20, 2017 from 2 to 5 pm at the
Castlegar Community Recreation Complex, 2101
6th Avenue, Castlegar, BC. This event is open to
the public and everyone is welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, we would ask that you consider
donations of school supplies or non-perishable
food items to the Castlegar Community Harvest
Foodbank or cash donations to the Kootenay

Matt was quite specific as to what he wanted

Diallos compositions unite the traditional and the con-
temporary. He has been nominated six times for a Juno
award and has won his category three times.
The concert will also feature a special guest appearance
by Ahmed Fofana, a well-known Malian producer and
virtuoso on traditional instruments, the ngoni and the
kora. Fofana is in Canada briefly to record with Alpha, so
this is a unique opportunity to hear him perform! Doors
open at 7 pm, show time is at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $15,
students $8 and $3 for kids under 12. Tickets sold at the
door only. Presented by the Slocan Lake Gallery Society
and supported by the BC Arts Council.

Crescent Valley Beach
parking lot now open
The Regional District of Central Kootenay is pleased to
announce that the Crescent Valley Beach Regional Park
parking lot is now open to the public. The work at the
park has included developing the entry, parking spaces,
a picnic shelter, washroom facility, and an integrated trail
network. Although minor work may still occur over the
course of the summer, the parking lot will remain open.
The work at the regional park is a result of the Slocan
Community Recreation Greenway Project, a partnership
comprised of the RDCK, the Ministry of Transportation
and Infrastructure, Rec Sites and Trails BC, and the Slo-
can Valley Heritage Trail Society. The project involves
external funding from the Columbia Basin Trusts Rec-
reation Infrastructure Grant, the RDCKs Community
Works Funding, and Bike BC.
