Museo Dabawenyo

The Museo Dabawenyo is one of a kind museum, at the entrance you need to register

your name and a student intern for tourism will volunteer to guide you in your tour inside the

museum.

I was impressed of the signature Bahay Kubo

of the bagobo, Matigsalog and other tribes

which they built for family abode. The Bagobo

tribe has its own unique design for their

houses and passed it on to their children. The

same with the Matigsalog Tribes they have

their own design that you can identify that it is

a Matigsalog house.

The Museo Davawenyo is like a picture of how the early people live their lives here in

Davao by preserving the original weapons they used the musical instruments they played and the

costumes they wear that identifies their tribes.

They also present the history of Davao through the replica of President Elpidio Quirino

signing the decree creating Davao as a City and the pictures of different Governors and Mayors

of Davao City up to the present. Truly my visit of Museo Dabawenyo gives me a glimpse of how

my ancestors live in our city.
