American Foreign Policies are Good Only for America

It goes without saying that
America has always and always only
bothered about its own interests and
nothing else. America has chalked
out its foreign
policies too in such
a manner that its
own interests only
are only secure and
is least bothered
about anything
else. It is here that I
Sanjeev Sirohi very strongly feel
that America has made the biggest
blunder which it is just not prepared
to accept. American foreign policies
are proving to be worst for America
and what a pity that even the 9/11
attack on America in 2001 has failed
to make them realize that overlooking
terrorism in other countries just
because they are not affected will
undoubtedly affect their long term
interests also most adversely. While
America always tries to convince
India of entering into a meaningful
dialogue with Pakistan whom we all
know has been openly aiding, abet-
ting, sponsoring and giving every
possible help to terrorists directed
against India for more than two
decades and as General Musharraf
himself admits in his latest book In
The Line of Fire that Kargil war had
full blessings of the Pakistani army
and even former Prime Minister
Nawaz Sharif was fully aware of it
but as we all know America is least
bothered about all this as it feels :
why should they bother when they
are not affected in any manner ? On
the contrary, when Americas own
interests are adversely affected as
happened after 9/11 terrorists attack
on US in 2001 then it lost no time in
openly attacking two independent
and sovereign countries Iraq and
Afghanistan on the charge of shelter-
ing terrorists and having lethal
weapons killing thousands of inno-
cent civilians about which they are
just least bothered. What better
example can we look for double
standards openly being followed by

the USA who has just no hesitation
whatsoever in openly joining hands
with Pakistan who all know is
the mother of Taliban regime in
Afghanistan but about which the US
is least bothered as they feel that
Pakistan itself is no threat to them ? It
is here that American foreign policy
makers have just failed to read the
clear writing on the wall that if you
are partial in following different
yardsticks on the issue of terrorism,
you are openly inviting trouble for
yourself because terrorism recognises
no borders as has been proved
recently. But still they are not pre-
pared to accept this harsh reality.
What a pity that American
foreign policies are proving to be not
only not good but worst for America
and what is even more shameful is
that still they are unable to face this
harsh reality boldly and make suit-
able amendments so that the damage
can at least be controlled to some
extent from spreading further. I am
afraid but cant just restrain myself
from speaking the truth that if
America still fails to make the much
required drastic changes in its foreign
policy even now then it cannot blame
anyone for its own downfall except
themselves. It is high time that
American foreign policy makers woke
up before it is too late and realize that
it has to deal very sternly with
countries like Pakistan which is res-
ponsible for the creation of Taliban
and many other terrorists organisa-
tions operating freely from their soil
if they genuinely desire that terrorism
has to be totally eliminated at any
cost as the US President George W.
Bush repeatedly affirms also.
Just taking a few cosmetic steps
and very conveniently ignoring the
real cause of terrorism will only
further compound US problems
because different Islamic terrorists
groups are unanimous in striking
adversely wherever possible US vital
interests which America must realize
soon before it is too late.
There is just no doubt that
American foreign policies are aimed
only at protecting and furthering
Americas own interests and they are
least bothered about everything else.
This alone explains why India which
has been a victim of terrorism for the
last two-three decades has never
received Americas solid backing
and on the contrary it has always
been a leader in supplying the
deadliest weapons to Pakistan which
we all know has become the most
safe breeding ground for terrorists
just because they need Pakistans
cooperation for eliminating Taliban
terrorists in Afghanistan and Al-
Qaeda leaders. America is just not
bothered about terrorists training
camps operating openly in Pakistan
occupied Kashmir and many other
parts of Pakistan because they feel
that only India is affected by all this
and they are totally immune to it. So
why should they bother or be
disturbed ? America forgets that it is
this selfish thinking which is mainly
responsible for Taliban coming to
power in Afghanistan and Osama-
bin-Laden creating new terror net-
work there which was solely res-
ponsible for the 9/11 terrorist attack
on USA which then compelled them
to wake up partially at least for
safeguarding their own vital interests.
It is due to this that I very strongly
feel that American dubious foreign
policies are proving to be worst for
Americans themselves but still they
are just not mentally prepared to
wake up their ideas and are interes-
ted only in taking retaliatory action
against Taliban and Al-Qaeda and not
against anyone else. This alone
explains why so many terrorist
leaders like Syed Salaluddin, Chief of
Hizbul Mujahideen, Maulana Masood
Azhar, Chief of Jaish-e-Mohammad
and many othersthe list is just
endlessare openly enjoying every
type of patron-age in Pakistan about
which America knows everything but
still closes its eye or looks in another
direction as they feel why should
they bother when they are not
affected at all by this and has just no
hesitation whatsoever of any kind in
describing Pakistan as the most
leading partner in fight against
terrorism without the support of
whom no war against terrorism can
ever be won. General Musharraf once
