PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION

Zoo Negara Volunteer Programme is about to provide a close relation between


human and wildlife by learning to understand their needs and social behaviour.
By working hand in hand with our zoo personnel, these programmes also build
up your self-confidence and spirit through the community service and raise
awareness on wildlife conservation.

Apart from this, you will also learn to get a chance to explore behind the scene
as a zookeeper by assisting them on daily routine.

WHO SHOULD JOIN?


This programme is open to anyone age 16 years old and above.

HOW MUCH IS THE REGISTRATION FEE?


An annual registration fee is RM 25.00 per person for the contribution of
wildlife education programme.

WHAT IS THE JOBSCOPE?


1. To assist our animal keepers in providing daily care for the animals,
including exhibit cleaning, food preparation and animal behavioural
enrichment activities.
2. To assist our animal keepers in exhibit maintenance.
3. To assist our animal keepers with special projects, including research and
exhibit modifications.
4. To assist our horticulture and plants landscaping around the zoo.
5. To assist wherever help is needed on an ad hoc basis.

WHAT TO DO UPON ARRIVAL?

Step 1
Please arrive at 8.00am (30 MINUTES BEFORE the programme starts) to
ensure that the Volunteer Programme is not postponed to another date or your
programme will be replaced by a zoo visit
(Coordinator has to proceed to the Ticketing Counter to purchase the entrance
ticket).

Step 2
Participants have to proceed to the GATE 3, ZOO NEGARA (Security Post) and
the person in-charge must register the group by fill in the Zoo Volunteer Book at
the Security Post.

Step 3
Please gather at the Education Offices Foyer (near Gate 3) and our Education
Officer will be waiting for your group.
Kindly submit the COMPLETED VOLUNTEER FORM AND THE LATEST LIST OF
VOLUNTEERS (including full name, identity card no., hand phone no. and
signature) to the Education Officer.
Participants are ready for briefing session and programme starts.
ITINERARY
8.00 am : Volunteer arrival and registration
8.15 am : Welcome note & safety briefing
By Education Officer
8.30 am : Volunteer distribution
10.00 am : Tea break*
10.45 am : Volunteering work continues
12.30 pm : Volunteer program ends
Visit Panda
Adjourn

*Please Note:
Tea break and lunch must be provided by the Organiser.
If you bring your own food make sure you are not using Styrofoam.
