Dear Austal Ships Resourcing,

I am writing to enquire about openings for your Apprenticeship program in Henderson. I am

interested in the Fit-out department offering the opportunity to work with a world leading company
in the design and manufacture of high performance aluminium vessels.

As a (soon to be) graduate student I have been gaining all sorts of carpentry experience all year
through my VET Workplace Learning course working with a master-builders building company,
Tooltime Construction, Since February of this year (currently 193 Hours). Just some of the skills I
have gained include measuring and cutting, framing and interpreting plans, working off plans,
roofing and placing batons and supports installing and fixing many different types of bulk heads, box
gutters. Types of furniture making and the use power tools and some heavy duty equipment. I am
also completing a Cert II in Visual Arts (Furniture Stream) and a Cert II in Automotive Vocational
Preparation, along with a partial Cert II in induction to building and construction I previously
completed last year.

I am the best person for this job because I have gained many skills in this industry and cant wait to
put them to use, whilst learning more and new ways to complete my tasks . Im also adaptable, a
good team player to allow for tasks to be completed efficiently and safely, and also I am an
independent worker.

I realise that in considering my application for an apprenticeship you would not only want someone
whos best for the job, but also shows commitment to career at Austal Ships and someone who is
passionate in what they do.

I would like very much to be given this amazing opportunity to work and build a successful career
with Austal Ships. I hope that what I have described in this letter and my resume will show how I can
be of service to this company.

Kind regards,

Johan Tingberg
