To whom it may concern,

I would like to write this letter to prove that I can be a valuable worker for your company. From my
Chemical Engineering senior design project, I had learned more about using Chemical Engineering
knowledge to solve problems, working with integrity and working hard to achieve the goal.

My senior design project was about the production of Butadiene from the oxidative dehydrogenation
reaction of Butene. This was a one-semester project that aimed for better and more productive
methods of producing Butadiene. My contribution for this project included researching for different
available chemical pathways to produce Butadiene and general designing reactors and distillation
columns. I have learned to apply my knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and optimization
skills to design workable reactors and distillation columns for my project. Therefore, I can be a valuable
employee because I am familiar with solving various chemical engineering problems. Working on my
senior design also gave me a very realistic hand on working experience in terms of Chemical
Engineering. I have learned to utilize the tools such as Aspen stimulator and ChemCad to achieve the
goal of my project.

Along with the knowledge and skill I have gained from my senior design project, I also learned to work
with integrity and to work hard toward my goal. My project required a large amount of commitment in
terms of time and dedication for a common goal. In spite of the intense schedule of class and exams, I
managed to dedicate my time for my project. As a result, the project completed on time and worked
well. I also show my will to contribute as much as I can to the group. I learned that by taking the
initiative to work, the project can run smoothly. With a given deadline, I always manage to complete my
given tasks and make sure that my work can be presentable in a professional manner. These values are
important to any company because an honest, reliable, hard-working engineer will make sure his job is
done.

My senior design project has given me many valuable values that a Chemical Engineer needs to know
and live by. Therefore, I hope you will consider me as one of your potential employees.
