SUBJECT: LIGHT DENSITY, TONER SCATTERING OR SC4XX

SYMPTOMS:
Image Density is too light.
Toner is scattering inside the machine.
SC4xx is/are registered in SC history (SP7403)

NOTE: Refer to TSB 013 for related Toner Scattering and Image Density issues.

CAUSE:
ID sensor [A] is dirty with toner. [A]

SOLUTIONS:
Clean the ID sensor with ALCOHOL. (Do NOT clean with a dry cloth!)

! IMPORTANT
Never use a dry cloth to clean the ID sensor. Wiping the ID sensor with a dry cloth builds up static
electricity on the surface of ID sensor. Static electricity attracts the toner to the surface of ID sensor. It makes
the ID sensor dirty and it leads to the same symptom again.
