WHAT IS PUBLIC SPEAKING

Public speaking is exactly as explained speaking in public and in the majority of cases in
front of large groups of people. According to LiveSpeech.org, there are four different types
of public speaking
Speaking to inform
Speaking to persuade
Speaking to actuate
Speaking to entertain
WHY DO PEOPLE FEAR IT?

Many people fear public speaking for many reasons. Including not being familiar with what
you're talking about, fearing failure, not wanting to embarrass yourself etc. Lots of people
fear public speaking some clearly more than other because some actually have physical
setbacks because of this.
HOW CAN YOU IMPROVE YOURS?

There's several ways you can improve your public speaking. As indicated by Majorie Lee
North who is the director of speech, language, and audiology at Northeastern University
there are 10 ways she would advice people to improve their public speaking.
1. Practice and Prepare
2. Know Your Audience
3. Organize your material effectively
4. Watch for feedback and adapt accordingly
