Experiment: OHMS LAW

Aim : To study the relationship between the potential difference, V and current, I

Apparatus and Materials: Ammeter,Voltmeter, battery (6 V), rheostat, 1m eureka wire , metre rule,
thumbtacks and 6 connecting wires.
Arrangement of apparatus : Draw electrical circuit

The procedure of the experiment.


1. The apparatus is set up as shown in the diagram above.
2. Using rheostat, fix the ammeter, I = 0.1 A. Record the reading of the voltmeter, V.
3. Repeat the experiment 4 times for different ammeter reading and take the corresponding voltmeter
reading.

Analyse the data .


1. Plot a graph of voltage against current.
2. Determine the gradient of the graph.

3. Based on your graph, state the relationship between V and I.
