If I was a teacher and wanted to make sure I was incorporating all students in the classroom.
I would make sure everything I did was visual. For example, if I were to give direction for an
assignment I wouldnt just say them verbally. I would make sure I write down my
expectations. I would also make sure I make time for group work that way students from all
backgrounds get to learn about each other and give their perspective on things. I would also
make sure I took the time to get to know each and every student I was teaching. I wouldnt
want them to feel like I dont care about them. I would want them to know that they could
come to me with whatever question they had. I want to make sure that the students are not
scared to raise their hands if they dont understand something. I would encourage them
consistently. I would make sure that I had rules and policies in place that would discourage
any student from picking on another because of their differences. I would create some type of
contact that the students will have to sign at the beginning of the year and lay out the
consequences if they do something that goes against the contract.
