Car accidents and general traffic chaos in San


Salvador have reached a great crisis. The city's
streets were designed more than 50 years ago for
60-thousand cars, there are now more than half a
million cars on the roads each day. Day after day
the people of San Salvador use roads jammed
with heavy traffic. There should be more streets
and parking lots in every market or central
business. In addition to this problem some of
people also work as informal vendors who use
the buses as a place of employment, selling
candy, nuts, or other small items. There should be
