Abstract

Cyclamate is an artificial sweetener that has a kind of sweetness 30 times sweeter

than sucrose are usually available in the form of the acid salt sodium cyclamate (sodium
cyclamate). This study aims to determine the levels of sodium cyclamate contained in soft
drinks brand packaging Mr.Cool strawberry flavor and taste wine in the market Youtefa
Abepura then the data has been obtained or not in accordance with the rules issued by the
Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. Levels of sodium cyclamate analysis method
used in this study is gravimetric. The experiments were performed 3 times repetition by using
powdered soft drink brand Mr.Cool 2 flavors namely the taste of wine and strawberry
flavors. The result showed levels of average sodium cyclamate in soft drink powder brand
Mr.Cool taste wine and strawberry flavors in the market Youtefa Abepura, respectively for
56088.07011 mg / kg and at 53 320, 28 606 mg / kg. Levels of sodium cyclamate is not
obtained in accordance with the rules issued by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of
Indonesia due to exceeding the exposure limits in soft drinks is 1000 mg / kg. High levels of
sodium cyclamate cause the product obtained is not feasible if the terms of traded
siklamatnya sodium levels.
