Expansion
With high vision and hopes, CDO Foodsphere Inc., the company had already set up the new mega-plant and
production facilities in Malvar, Batangas. A plant with high technology features to provide not only the growing
number of clients all over the world but also to set a high standard of production in the industry. The
Department of Agriculture recognized this company as the cleanest meat processing plant in the Philippines
which put them in the epitome among others. The state-of-the-art plant in a nine-hectare property in Malvar
plays a significant role in the fast paced market of today, CDO aims to be always on top of what they do and
give their best in service of the consumers. It provides faster, cleaner and bigger operating environment for the
company.
CDO-Foodsphere was already one of the first companies to adopt the acronym for Hazard Analysis Critical
Control Points (HACCP), the scientific approach to address concerns on food safety. Now, the company aimed
even a much higher standard in terms of the structure, the plant is also designed towards ISO certification of
the systems (ISO 9001 for Quality Management System and ISO 22000 for Food Safety Management System)
and other certifications/accreditation which have been already awarded to the plant in Valenzuela such as
Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Triple A accreditation, and HACCP certification.
The company also expanded it services to the Southeast Asian Region through Yum Restaurants, International
(YRI), a recognized owner of various international restaurants where the company is one of the top suppliers of
high-quality meat toppings. YRI has 840,000 employees working in its more than 33,000 restaurants worldwide.
Moreover, CDO supplies and delivers meat toppings to the 90% of QSRs in the Philippines. They eventually
plan to supply meat toppings to other Southeast Asian countries and as one of the key players in the canned
meat sector, it also seeks to increase its exports to the Middle East, Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Australia, and
Papua New Guinea and aims to penetrate the United States, Canada and other countries where Filipinos are at
large.
Awards and Citations
Outstanding Corned Beef Maker CDO Karne Norte, was cited outstanding corned beef manufacturer by the
Consumers Union of the Philippines (CUP) at the 15th Annual National Consumers Awards (ANCA)
YRI Product Excellence Award In 2005, YRI recognized and awarded CDO-Foodsphere Inc. as its most
improved supplier in the 3rd Asia Franchise Awards in Singapore. CDO is the supplier of meat toppings for
Pizza Hut, one of the five major QSR brands owned and managed by YRI. CDO received the citation because
of its consistent improvement on the quality of their products and services. The award gave CDO a position in
the international market especially in the Southeast Asian region.
The Hall of Fame Award In 2003, the Hall of Fame award was bestowed to CDO-Foodsphere by the
Consumers Union of the Philippines (CUP). The CUP cited CDO - Foodsphere as the Outstanding Meat
Processor for five consecutive years from 1999 to 2003 in recognition of the company's great efforts in
providing nutritious and affordable food products to Filipinos. Grand Slam
Best Meat Processing Plant From 1999 to 2001, CDO-Foodsphere was awarded "Best Meat Processing
Plant" by the Agriculture Department through the National Meat Inspection Commission in recognition of the
companies which have excelled in the said industry.

2004 National Sales & Marketing Conference
Ninety-eight executives of CDO-Foodsphere Inc. attended the company's sales and marketing convention held May 1
to 3 at the Dive Link Resort in Coron, Palawan. The company launched its key programs before its sales and
marketing people to boost its market position in the processed meat industry.
Coron is a beautiful place blessed with a variety of scenic spots and natural wonder such as shipwrecks, powdery
white beaches, clear water lagoons and walls of limestone cliffs.
CDO Instills Good Values Among Kids Through TV
A HOTDOG maker took a big step towards instilling good values among children, when it launched a TV commercial
showing young kids forming a squad to clean a community park, a selfless act that the ad wants others to follow.
Effective and inspiring, the ad moved away from using celebrity endorsers to promoting good values, which is rare in
the local ad industry.
The 30-second commercial of CDO Idol Cheesedog begins with a group of grade schoolers having fun and enjoying
playtime with each other.
At first, these kids who have established a group identity appear to be preparing for a competition, making secrete
codes and sign languages.
Equipped with cleaning tools and camaraderie, it becomes clear that these alert and animated ids are actually raring
to do a community service - that of cleaning their neighborhood park.
