Tom Hooper
Born on the 5th October 1972, Tom Hooper is a highly
successful English director.
He began his career working exclusively on television
programmes until he had his film debut with Red Dust.
After this created 4 further films, including the highly
commended The Kings Speech, Les Misrables and
The Danish Girl.
Kathryn Bigelow
Born on the 27th November 1951, Kathryn Bigelow is a
celebrated American director.
Kathryn had a long history of working in film before she
directed the film The Hurt Locker in 2009 which quickly
gained critical acclaim. The film won many awards including
best picture and best director. To this day, Bigelow remains
the only female to have won best director.
Christopher Boyes

Boyes has worked on more than 70 films as a sound


engineer since 1991. Of American descent, he has won
four Academy Awards and has been nominated for 14 in
total.

His wins are as follows:

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (Best Sound

Ai-Ling Lee

Lee originated from Singapore and currently works in Los


Angeles, California, America. She has worked on over 70
feature films as a sound editor, re-recording mixer and audio
engineer.
She has been nominated for a variety of awards and won the
Cinema Audio Society Award for Outstanding Achievement in
Sound Mixing for a Motion Picture Live Action for La La
Land as a re-recording mixer in 2017
Peter Lamont
Lamont is a well known set decorator/art director/
production designer born on the 12th November 1929. He is
most well known for his work on 18 James Bond films,
though he worked on another 7 feature films aside from
this.
He won an academy award for his work in 1997 for Titanic
but was also nominated for the award for his work with
Fiddler on the Roof (1971), The Spy Who Loved Me
(1977) and Aliens (1986).
Catherine Martin
Catherine Martin is an Australian costume designer,
production designer, set designer, and film producer. Born on
the 26th January 1965, She holds the title of the most
awarded Australian in the Oscars, having won four. Overall,
however, she holds 25 awards for her work in a variety of
films. Some of her more notable projects include Romeo +
Juliet, Moulin Rouge! and The Great Gatsby.
Hans Zimmer

Zimmer was born on the 12th September 1957, and is of


German descent. He is a famous film score composer and
record producer. He was included in the Top 100 Living
Geniuses by The Daily Telegraph. His most notable work is
included in the score for The Lion King, The Pirates of the
Caribbean, Gladiator, The Last Samurai, Inception,
Interstellar and Dunkirk.
He has won a total of 23 awards for his work.
Danny Elfman
Elfman was born on the 29th of May 1953, working in
America
His most famous compositions is The Simpsons Theme, which
he wrote in 1989.
He has won a fair amount of awards in his lifetime. These
include:
four Academy Award nominations,
a Grammy for Batman,
an Emmy for Desperate Housewives,
the 2002 Richard Kirk Award,
Disney Legend Award.
