Sublject: My film

As you know Im doing a film-making course at the moment and Ive decided to make a
short film about your area.

I need to start planning what Im going to do. What is the most interesting thing I could
film in your area? Id really like some advice!

In the film Id like to interview someone who has lived in the area for a long time and can
tell me how things have changed. Can you think of anyone?

Im hoping to film at the beginning of September. Would you be able to come and help
me?

Reply soon,

Jo
WRITING (Letter) FIRST CERTIFICATE

Hello Jo,

Yes, I know about your film-making course. How is the course it going? Is it more
interesting now? Last time we spoke, you told me that you were bored in the course
because there theyre teaching too much theory. Im happy to heard that it has changed,
even more, your first practice is going to be about my area. Thats fantastic!

Needless to say that that you know I love Bilbao, so there are many things we could talk
about it, but I think you should focus in how much Bilbao has changed since the
Guggenheim was built. You could film in that area and put some pictures to show how it
was before the museum was built. If someone doesnt know Bilbao that mix contrast will
be great.

I have a friend living just in front of the museum. He has been living there for ages and he
could talk to you about the change. In fact, he used to work in the factory that was there
before and explain to you how people was fighting when they were closing down the
factory. There were a lot of strikes and police were was there every single day.

I am sorry, but I wont be able to help you in September, I am going on holidays the whole
month. Would it be possible to do it in October or August? I would love to be with you to
help with all the details you could need, but I just booked my flight to USA last week. I also
enrolled in a course to improve my ingles English in there.

Let me know if you can change the dates, otherwise I will arrange everything you need
before I go.

I hope to see you soon and be able to help you

Antxon.

Observaciones:

1) Yes, I know about your film-making course, lo ms correcto es que hagamos

referencia a lo que sabemos. El Yes, I know sera ms apropiado como respuesta corta a
una pregunta (Por ejemplo: Do you know Cindy is getting married next week? Yes, I know).

Como consecuencia, en la oracin que le sigue utilizamos el it (How is it going?).

2) Is it more interesting now?, lo correcto es que le demos un contexto a ese more (Es
ms interesante ahora?). Otro ejemplo: Is it more interesting than before? (Es ms
interesante que antes?).

3) you told me that you were bored, este es uno de los casos en los cuales se puede
omitir el that, aunque si lo dejamos tambin es gramaticalmente correcto, pero menos
fluido.

4) because theyre teaching too much theory, lo correcto sera el theyre (ellos estn
enseando). El there es para referirnos a all (The book is there) o hay (There is only
one solution to the problem).

5) Needless to say that you know I love Bilbao, si no queremos utilizar el that, lo
podemos escribir con una coma: Needless to say, you know I love Bilbao.

6) If someone doesnt know Bilbao that contrast will be great., al hablar de mostrar
Bilbao con y sin el Guggenheim, lo ms correcto sera hablar de contrast (contraste).
