Dear Professor Prentiss:

I am writing this letter to discussing key components that go into a letter. Letters are type of
business communication, but its more formal and respect. It can be an official legal record. A letter has
many parts. There are heading, date line, inside address, salutation, body of the letter, complimentary
close, signature, enclosure line, and copy notation. These parts are the most important in the letter. If
the writer is missing one of these part, it can show that the writer disrespect to the audience. Or the
writer would get fire from the job, if the letter sends to his/her boss. The heading is the first part of a
letter. The heading of a letter usually has company name, company contact information, and company
address. The audience can identify where the letter come from. On Below of the heading is date line.
The name of the month should spell out clearly because each country has different ways to write month
and date. After the date line is inside address. This address is the address of the recipient. Next part is
Salutation. This part is about greeting to the recipient. The main part of the letter is the body of letter.
This part shows the message of the writer to their audience. The sentence must be clear and easy to
understand. The writer should check grammatical while theyre writing. The next part is complimentary
close. The most people are using sincerely, regards, and respectfully to close the message, because it
shows your respect to the recipient. Lastly is signature block. The writer must type their name and
signature. There are two additional parts to the letter. Sometimes we need them, and sometimes we do
not need them. There are enclosure line and copy nation.

I think a letter is a great way to commutation on business field or professional life because its
more formal than emails. Also, the people can use it as a record document or legal document in the job.
to write a good letter, we need to be clearly on our message to the recipient. The writer must be gentle
tones on the letter to show respect.
