Fungus discovered in a Hackettstown elementary school prompts the closure of the school for the

next four weeks according to News 12 New Jersey. The Willow Grove Elementary School was

closed earlier this week for health officials testing. The tests showed high levels of fungi and

spores resulting from lack of ventilation according to News 12 New Jersey. While the school is

closed, thirteen classrooms will be cleaned and the students will attend neighboring schools

starting Monday Said the Hackettstown District Superintendent David Mango. According to the

Superintendent the elementary school was built in 1971.

Franklin Elementary school officials Wednesday called police after an incident of a students

bringing prohibited items to class happened for the third time this week according to NJ.com. Lt.
Steve Varn of the Trenton Police dept. said that two students brought with the BB Guns and one

student brought a small Bag of weed to school throughout Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Trenton Police went to the school on Wednesday and the administrators of the school

reported the incidents according to NJ.com. the three separate incidents are under investigation

and not arrested have been made said Vern.
