Lesson Plan in English

Grade 2

A. Students and Setting


Students:
Students are from age 7-9 years old. They are already in Elementary level in
English. They are already familiar with the grammatical rules however they
are less engaged in conversation in English language.
Setting:
In a private school set up. The Class size is 30. The class meets 5 times a
week for 50 minutes. They are Filipino Students.

B. Lesson Background

The Previous lesson was about basic parts of a sentence which are the
subject and the predicate. The next lesson is reading and comprehension of
subject-verb agreement wherein they will apply what they have learned on
basic parts of sentence. This time in the class the teacher will introduce a
reading text to the students. The class will be divided into 2 groups to read
aloud certain parts of the text. The teacher will be the facilitator and only
generalize the lesson after the students read aloud the story.

C. Learning Objectives/ Expected Results

At the end of the Lesson, the students are expected to construct their own
sentences using correct subject-verb agreement. It is also expected that the
students will sustain interest in studying subject-verb agreement.

generalization of the lesson.
