Blog Question 3

One rhetorical strategy that I would incorporate in my essay would be a pathos appeal. In

Harm or No Harm, the author provides a hook that grabs the attention of those who can relate.

Those having to pick up a child from school or noticing how many children have smartphones

nowadays will be curious on where the author is going with the statement. If I put in a relatable

statement or question in my intro, readers would be interested in my essay. Another rhetorical

strategy that would be good for this essay would be provocation. Since the Wings essays did not

really make an argumentinstead are stating the pros and cons, and informing how to get to the

deep, dark webit showed no argument, no side they were trying to take, no point they were

trying to prove. It made me realize that I cant be iffy or get off topic when writing this essay. I

am writing an argumentative essay so it would be good to provoke readers with my opinions and

make them understand why I think what I think.
