PROJECT HAND-IN

MOODLE

In connection with preparation of project reports, there are a number of

guidelines for size and format that each project has to follow.

PROJECT SIZE

Every project report has a maximum of number of pages. The maximum

number of pages for a project is defined by semester and number of students
in the project group, and is calculated on the basis of the following formula:

PROJECT SIZE = FIXED NUMBER OF PAGES + FACTOR *

PROJECTS ECTS * NUMBER OF STUDENTS

When calculating the maximum number of pages for a project following factors
apply:

FIXED NUMBER OF PAGES

5 pages - Mini projects

20 pages - 3rd -5th semester projects
30 pages - 1st 4th semester projects, postgraduate

FACTOR

0,8 - Mini projects

1,0 - Ordinary projects and long final projects
1,5 - Final projects (normal length)

Please note that the factor ECTS in the formula refers to the number of ECTS
that the project is rated at it does not refer to the total number of ECTS for

the semester.

NUMBER OF PAGES

The number of pages is counted from the first report page. This means that
front page, title page, preface and table of content do not count in the total
number of pages. Also, neither blank pages in connection with the beginning of
a new chapter nor appendix count in the total number of pages.

Pages that exceed a projects allowed number of pages will not be included in
the assessment of the project.

FORMAT

In connection with format and layout following guidelines must be followed:

A4 format must be used

Spacing must be minimum 1,2
Font size must be minimum 11
Margins must be at least 2 cm., including 3 cm. in the binding margin.

SUMMARY

For foreign students: The report must include an English summary. The
summary must be at least one page and maximum two pages. The summary is
included in the evaluation of the project as a whole.

For Danish students: If the project is written in English, the summary must be
in Danish. The summary must be at least one page and maximum two pages.
The summary is included in the evaluation of the project as a whole.

PROJECT GUIDANCE

Each project group is placed under the guidance of a specialized supervisor,

who helps the group with its academic work and progress in the form of advice
and suggestions. The supervisor is typically either a professor, associate
professor, assistant professor or other type of post-graduate faculty member.
Especially during the initial period at the University when the students have to
get used to the project-oriented form of study, it is helpful to have a supervisor
to confer with on academic matters and use as a source of inspiration.
However, it is the responsibility of the group itself to define, write and complete
the project work.
