ALESA English Film Assignment

The movie The Great Gatsby, directed by Baz Luhrmann in 2013, was

originally a novel written in 1925. The story takes place in New York in the 20s,

and is mainly about a man of great wealth, Gatsby loving a lady called Daisy.

I like this film because it pictures the massive parties, fashion, and

many other elements of how the American upper class enjoyed the Roaring

Twenties. It is simply exciting to watch. But I also like how it deepened other

themes like gender and racial stereotypes and wealth gap. Carey Mulligan did a

great job acting Daisys complex character.
