Alumni Portal

The challenges faced by alumni systems are:

To attract alumni to access system like other social networks;

To collect useful data related to alumni from social networks and other
open resources;

To keep privacy and security a top priority for this system; and

To get current students involved.

1.Benefits to the College

Universities are one of the main stakeholders who get benefits from the
alumni system. Some of the main benefits are:

Fund raising. Universities can organize events for the alumni, which in
turn act as fund raising activities for the universities;

Marketing. College whose alumni are reputed and notable can promote
the brand of the College through highlighting their affiliation with the
noted individual;

Improving standards. Departments within a College can come along with

the alumni and discuss on the new emerging technologies in the real
world and make necessary changes to curriculum. Consequently
increasing the quality of education obtained by the students.

2.Benefits to Current Students

The traditional alumni networks provide most of the benefits to College. SAS
would bring together currently enrolled students along with the alumni
thereby leading to many potential benefits.
Mentoring. Current students can choose an alumni mentor with whom
they can interact and take advice from.

Recruitment. Current students get to know about the job openings in the
workplaces where the alumni are working and in some cases the alumni
can even act as a reference provider.

Beneficial Interactions. Current students can interact with the alumni who
are experienced in different trades to get updated about the trending
technologies and opportunities in the technical world. Students who
relocate to a new place can use alumni systems to make connections
with the alumni living in the same area.

3.Benefits to the Faculty

SAS offers numerous benefits to faculty members in the system:

Good means to interact with students. SAS provides lot of channels for
the members to interact, the faculty can use it to express their views and
share interests.

Obtaining feedback. SAS is not like traditional alumni systems, and

provides a good opportunity for the faculty to obtain feedback about their
teaching or the courses content, and if required they can try to improve it
from a student perspective.

Class Officers

Ambassadors Connecting Classmates with One Another and the College

Class Officers are one of the Colleges most significant assets to alumni
engagement for building class identity, alumni networking, and college
affinity. Each class officer is a necessary ally for the continual efforts of
supporting and advancing SAKEC and its central mission - preparing
students for lives of leadership and service in society. Each class has
five officer roles: President, Vice President/Events Chair,
Communications Chair, Philanthropy Chair, and Recruitment Chair.

Give Now

The gift of a SAKEC experience is made possible through the time,

talents, and resources of the community. Financial gifts ensure student
access to the most excellent faculty and opportunities the College can
provide. Through mentoring and direct service students see first-hand
what it means to live a life of service after time on the Hill.

Helping Alumni Find Jobs

We offer their database of jobs online; many universities are finding

LinkedIn to be a useful tool to provide alumni with career resources. And
in fact, using LinkedIn means the process is often very hands-off for the
schools. In many cases, universities create the group and allow the
networking magic to take place, with alumni sharing job opportunities by
posting information to the group and creating subgroups that are focused
on specific career or regional alumni chapters.

The event hosted by the alumni which will work on barter systems thus
both parties get what they want and benefit from this.

Alumni Weekend

We will welcome alumni to campus every 2-3 years to celebrate their

class reunion over Alumni Weekend. Throughout the weekend, Sakec
engages them in the latest school initiatives and scholarship through
interactive panel discussions and talks. We also offer several social
gatherings that allow alumni to renew old friendships, celebrate
classmates successes, and reminisce about their time spent at Sakec.
The weekend is always a highlight for our SAKEC community.

Reunions are a powerful way for our alumni to remain connected to the
SAKEC and each other. Each year, our reunion committees set goals to
encourage classmates to attend Alumni Weekend and to demonstrate
their support for the school with a gift

Alumni Board Of Directors

We will start with a thing called as the Board of Visitors which will play a
significant role in helping the college respond to particular challenges
facing engineering education. Members of the Board will be appointed
by the college board and are selected for their distinction as leaders in
engineering, business, and service to the public, and demonstrated a
commitment to the college.

They meet as a group once each year to discuss a broad range of

issues including the engineering profession, future education, short-term
and long-term plans for SAKEC, and ongoing concerns in areas related
to student admissions and careers, curricular initiatives, faculty research,
alumni and constituent involvement, and resource needs. The Boards
input is critical to maintaining the schools strong tradition of academic
excellence.
