ACID PUMP WITH MOTOR AND STARTER

2. Detailed description and quantity:

Supply of 36 complete set of acid pump with motor and starter mounted on single
standard sized base frame, suitable to handle highly corrosive acid at Cordite
Factory, Aruvankadu.

3. Technical details of the machine required:

3.1 Specification, material of construction, capacity etc.:
The kind of acid to be pumped, its specific gravity & temperature, type of pump,
suction type, total differential Head, Suction & Discharge size, Flanges, numbers
required, etc., are SEPERATELY INDICATED along with this specification.

3.2 PUMP:
3.2.1 Details of Material of Construction:
1. Casing, stuffing box, gland quench : Alloy 20

10. The kind of acid for the pumps is highly corrosive in nature. Hence, for the
supply of complete unit of acid pumps with motors & starters, the
corrosiveness/characteristic of specified acid should be taken into account while
deciding the material of construction of the various parts/components which are
essentially required but not mentioned herein.

3.2.2 For self-priming pump, the scope of work includes supply of suitable self-priming
chamber at suction and delivery side of pumps casing along with the pump.

3.2.3 Each set of pump & motor should be mounted on single SS base bed frame of
standard size and suitably aligned.

3.2.4 Additional flanges (SS304L/316L) both at suction and delivery side of each set of
pump should be supplied. (This is required for fabrication of pipeline and to realign
the pump with the existing piping network during installation at CFA.)

6. Requirement of pre-despatch inspection (PDI) and performance test runs (PTR)

for final acceptance:

The inspection and testing of pumps is at Firms premises. The performance test to
be conducted by the vendor to prove each pump meet the specification as indicated
in this technical specification using pure cold water as test medium in presence CFA
representative. The test reports shall be calculated for the specific liquid with
viscosity / specific gravity correction ratios. IS-5120/1977 may be referred for
guidelines for performance test. Few of pump tests are head test, flow test, efficiency
test, power/kW test, speed/rpm test, hydro test, dynamic balance test, vibration
test, noise test, temperature test, etc.
7. Mandatory spares:

The following set of spares for each type of pumps to be supplied along with the
Pumps:

8. Requirement of technical documentation:

1. The vendor shall submit catalogue, cross sectional drawing identifying parts and
material of construction of pump, dimensional drawings, foundation details,
performance characteristic curves etc., along with tender quotation.

2. Test certificate:
The firm should furnish the following test certificates in duplicate during pre-
despatch inspection:

2.1 Manufactures test certificates for material construction of all wetted and vital
parts of the pump.
2.2 Testing of pumps at Firms premises. Performance test certificate of the pump
duly authenticated by the supplier and the inspector.

9. Warranty:

Each set of acid pump should be given warranty by the vendor against defects in
material and workmanship and bad performance under normal use and service for a
period of 18 months from the date of receipt at factory in good and acceptable
condition. The vendor shall furnish certificate in duplicate for the same.
