Dear Mr. Thomas Ramsay,

I would like to express my sincere interest in the high school mathematics teaching position within
our school district for the 2017-2018 school year. I am confident that my professional teaching
experience, dedication for student learning, and enthusiasm for teaching have prepared me for
making an immediate contribution to the Hammonton High School.

Along with a bachelor of Arts in Mathematics, I hold a Standard Certificate with Advanced
Standing as a Teacher of Mathematics. As my resume demonstrates, I have recently graduated
with my Masters in Education from Stockton University. For the past four years, I have had the
pleasure of working as an eighth-grade mathematics teacher. My educational training and my
professional experience allowed me to gain greater insight of educational obstacles and molded
me into a more effective and impactful educator. I facilitate the learning of my students through
explicit instruction and inquiry based learning. I have had the opportunity to collaborate with my
team to develop authentic hands on learning experiences to enhance the education of our
students. I am confident in my ability to provide a strong classroom management plan,
differentiated instruction, and creative teaching methods that will effectively engage my
students.

My time and success within the classroom over the past four years has further validated my love
and passion for teaching mathematics. I am confident in my ability to provide a diverse and
differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all learners. I have high expectations for all my
students and believe I have the ability to motivate my students to succeed. As a teacher, my role
is to act as a mentor and facilitator while I guide my students in their exploration of learning.

Please consider this letter as an expression of my sincere interest for the high school mathematics
teaching position. I would welcome the opportunity to meet with you to discuss the position
further. Thank you for your time and consideration and I look forward to speaking with you
soon.

Respectfully,

Tami Schaffer
