Parents Newsletter

Dear Parents,The end of the school year is fast approaching and while we have had a very busy
term it has been very enjoyable, as you will see throughout the newsletter. The term has
encompassed class tours, a trip to Paris, the completion of the Make a Book project, French
Week and Seachtain na Gaeilge, but to name a few. The term also saw our Student and Parent
Council becoming very active in our school policies and uniform changes. This once again
demonstrates our schools commitment to listening to the opinions of all in our school community.

We saw the first of our Junior and Leaving Certificate state exams commence during this term. The
students were walking the corridors speaking French and Irish, and in between our taste buds were
whetted by the beautiful scents coming from the Home Economics Room as the 3rd years completed
their cooking practicals.

Our parents went back to school by participating in our Project Maths course, offered over 4 weeks.
It was an informative practical course which we hope to offer again next year.

We welcomed the primary school children in the area to our very first Book Fair to mark World
Book Week and promote our strong commitment to Literacy. Through an induction day we
welcomed the 6th class pupils, and their parents, who will be joining us next year and we look
forward to a new contingent of first years to seamlessly link in with our existing school community.

Next term promises to also be a very busy term for all students but in particular our exam classes as
they continue with their practicals and project deadlines. If you would like any further information
or support on this please do not hesitate to contact me or the school.

I hope you enjoy our Parent Newsletter as you delve into the life of our school. Wishing you all a
lovely Easter and looking forward to a very active last term.

Regards Stacey Ryan (HSCL)
