Advocating for quality student internship experiences with university
staff, faculty, and community partners

Employer Survey Purpose
The intent of having Employer Internship surveys are
to track the amount of students being placed in
internship positions by employers utilizing the Aztec
Career Connections website
Surveys are conducted on a bi-monthly basis, with
tracking for the upcoming academic year beginning in
July

year 2014 2015

The intent of surveying or interviewing On-Campus


Internship Programs is to gain insight on how many
students are performing on-campus internships
This process is done on a semester to semester basis
Campus Program internship data collection was
piloted during the academic year 2014 2015
Internship Definition

A student is considered an intern when a


position allows the student to gain training,
and to apply and advance what he or she has
learned via classroom experience. A main
characteristic of an internship is the
completion of a project related to the
students learning.

student enrollment in courses that are considered to
be in an internship, provide fieldwork, or are courses
that offer experiential learning
I Footnote data is collected and analyzed on a
semester to semester basis (Summer/Fall and Spring)
Student Survey Purpose

The intent of having Student Internship Surveys are to


track the amount of students completing an internship
that are not being tracked through I Footnote
Surveys are conducted on each semester with the help
of the Assistant Deans and College Council Presidents
