What We Are Learning

Week of October 23
Reading We have started the Fantasy Unit. During this unit your children will be
learning about what makes a fantasy story as well as greater meanings from the stories.
Writing We have started the Fantasy Unit. During this unit your children will be
learning about how authors develop good fantasy stories.
Math Chapter 3 Fractions and Mixed Numbers. To help your children to
understand the concept ask them questions regarding the fraction of people in a certain
area wearing a certain color or something along those lines.
Social Studies We will be starting our unit on the study of groups; membership,
perspectives, as well as societies and nations all within the context of groups and their
interactions.
French Beginners and Intermediate 1: Student will be learning how to tell time, ask
and answer questions about their daily routines and schedule
