My name is Hoi Kwan and Im currently a 2nd year Mechanical Engineering student at Rensselaer
Polytechnic Institute. Im writing to you because the research opportunities youve listed on the GE
careers page at caught my eye. I am very interested in performing design work with individuals of many
disciplines and I believe I have the skillsets to match your needs.

Im currently part of Rensselaer Electric Vehicle, an organization on campus that designs and fabricates
an electric vehicle for competition. Right now we are working on a prototype and weve made progress
with the design of the steering hub and car rims. I have had a significant amount of experience with
specialized programs like Siemens NX and Solidworks. In addition, Ive also had experienced conducting
stress-strain analysis on various materials in my Materials Science for Engineers class and Im currently
enrolled in Thermal and Fluids Engineering I, where were currently studying the application of control
volumes, heat transfer and conduction. With my current experience, I believe I can make meaningful
contributions to your ongoing projects. Ive attached my resume which displays my qualifications and
skills I can bring to General Electric.
