 Ceiling Fans Help and Sample Filled up Application

The developed E-Filing application is as per Schedule 8. Agencies must

read Schedule 8 for Ceiling Fans before filling their applications. The
schedule can be downloaded from the BEE S&L Home Page.

We strongly recommend that you must first calculate your Star Label
using the Calculate Star Label link on the BEE S&L Home Page. Your
award of label will be based on the information entered by you in the
application

Agencies must read General Instructions for filling up the E-Filing

application for BEE Star Labeling. The information in the sample
application shown here are for illustration purpose only.

In document upload, we only accept PDF/word/scanned copies. Each page

of the uploaded document must be numbered, signed and stamped by
authorized signatory.

All the uploaded documents must be in PDF/word/scanned copy

Each page of uploaded documents must be numbered, signed by
authorized signatory and stamped.
PDF Copies of Trade mark, quality, BIS, Sample label, and
Authorization letter must be uploaded.
PDF copy of the test document, The lab where test was conducted
and the date on which test was conducted. (Date of testing must be
before the date of upload of document).
In uploading the document, when your one document is uploaded,
button for upload of next document will be automatically enabled.
The applications shall not be processed till all documents are
uploaded and verified with the hard copies received at BEE.
Manufacturers after e-filling can get a print copy of the application
filed and must send all the documents immediately to BEE for award
of Label.
Merely filling an application form on the net does not qualify you to
get the label.

Scope
This schedule specifies the requirements for
participating in the energy efficiency standards and
labeling for ceiling fans covering 1200mm sweep.
The referred Indian Standard are IS 374 : 1979
(Specification for Ceiling Type fans and regulators)
with all amendments, as applicable

*Where x is the base service value as per IS 374:1979.
BEE has proposed a base service value of 3.2 at present
and would upgrade it to higher value once the BIS
value is finalized.
*The BIS has proposed from the year 2010 the service
value of 3.5.
*All ceiling fans covered under this standard shall
comply with minimum Air Delivery of 210 cu m/min.

Label Design, manner of display

The label design and manner of display shall be as

described in Annexure-I

Label Design and Manner of Display

Placement
All ceiling fans must display the label at the point of
sale. The label shall be adhered to the nameplate
affixed on the switch housing/switch cup. The BEE
label shall be imprinted on the top left corner of the
name plate. The relevant BIS mark on the top right
corner of the nameplate, if applicable.
 CEILING FANS
For units not on display, the label may be attached
to the exterior of the packaging having the same
directions of display as mentioned above. The label
may be attached to the unit when the unit is
removed from its packaging or the label may be
included as a part of the documentation given to
the customer/user.

Material and Shape

The label shall be of metal or any other non perishable
material when used for nameplate on the switch housing
/ switch cup, if it is to be attached as a display on the
exterior of the packaging then the label may be displayed
by printing on the casing or a self adhesive label, as
applicable

shown in Figure 3.1

performance will depend on the how the equipment is used.

 Labelling Fees
One time company registration/Security Deposit fee
of Rs. 1 Lakh.
Registration fee is payable on application for
authority to affix labels is Rs. 1000/- ( Rupees one
thousand only)
Registration fee is payable on application for
renewal of authority to affix labels is Rs. 500/-
( Rupees five hundred only)
Labeling fee for affixation of label is Rs. 1 per BEE
labeled ceiling fan (one rupee only).
