AUTO-DETECTION SYSTEM

INTRODUCTION:

The objective of project is the instant detection and indication of faults in under
ground transmission lines.

BLOCK-DIAGRAM:

DESCRIPTION:

The occurence of faults in the underground cable system is un avoidable.

But the detection of the exact fault location in the cable line is normally not
possible. But our project uses the electromagnetic field from the cable lines to
detect any damage in the cable. Each conductor produces a magnetic field
during current flow. The weak magnetic flux leak from the conductors is sensed
by an antenna and processed by an small signal amplifier and detected. Also
seperate CTs are connected for each phases of the UG cable. If any fault
occcurs ,the fault current is sensed and an warning indication is shown. The
damage position is tracked exactly using the electromagnetic field detector unit.
