BASIC AVIATION LEGISLATION (MODULE 10) EXAMINATION FOR CAR-66 LICENCE

REASON:
In order to continuously improve the standard and quality of the CAR-66 examination and keep it up-to-
date with latest regulatory and technological developments, the GCAA will be soon implementing a new
Aviation Legislation (module 10) examination. The aim is to replace the existing questions with enhanced
and more accurate questions
This Information Bulletin (IB) is to provide UAE Aviation Stakeholders with information about the tentative
date of implementation of the new examination system.
INFORMATION TOPIC:
Effective 1st May 2017, all Basic Aviation Legislation (Module 10) Examinations for the purpose of initial
issuance/re issuance/renewal of a licence, conversion of a foreign licence, or temporary validation of a
foreign licence will be performed by the GCAA1 unless the Aviation Legislation course and associated
Examination are conducted as a part of an approved Basic Training Course provided by a Maintenance
Training Organization duly approved in accordance with CAR-147.
However, to avoid inconveniences on candidates having already successfully passed basic Aviation
Legislation (module 10) Examination, the GCAA will continue to accept Certificate of Recognition of Aviation
Legislation Examination passed before 1st May 2017. Additionally, effective 1st March 2017, any Aviation
Legislation (Module 10) Examinations performed by the GCAA will be using the reviewed and updated set
of questions.
