Iowa Insurance Division Brings Iowa Fraud Fighters to Altoona


Iowa Fraud Fighters Public Education Program Helps Iowans Prevent and Report Fraud

Who: Iowa Insurance Division and other state agency partners. Presenters and
panelists include:

What: An educational forum to educate and empower Iowans to combat and


report investment and insurance fraud.

The complimentary dinner program includes a presentation, followed by


the opportunity for attendees to ask forum panelists questions. Agency
partners and AARP, a forum assistance provider, will have information
booths available before and after the program to provide additional
resources.

Why: Con artists are targeting Americans age 60 and older, swindling more than
7 million Americans out of almost $3 billion each year.

At other forums across the state, local residents have come forward to
report fraud and state agencies have opened investigations. Attendees
have been very vocal and heroic in sharing scams with government
agencies, attendees and media.

By covering and reporting on this Iowa Fraud Fighters forum, media will
have the opportunity to educate and empower more Iowans who were
unable to attend this forum.
