Faculty Positions at IGIDR, Mumbai
Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) is a premier research and teaching institution set up by the Reserve Bank of India,
for the study of national and international development issues from an economic perspective. Governed by an eminent board, the institute
faculty makes notable contributions to academic research and policymaking. The Institute, a deemed university, offers M.Sc. degree in

The institute wishes to recruit Assistant Professors with specialization in: macroeconomics, international economics, energy/
environment economics, finance, and economic issues of developing countrieswith specific interests in industry, agriculture,
international trade, and labour markets, econometrics and microeconomics.
Eligibility: One should have a Ph.D., with a first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch, with a very
good academic record throughout, with excellent publications, and at least three years of research/teaching experience, excluding
the experience gained while pursuing Ph.D. A fresh Ph.D. may be considered for visiting appointment on a contractual basis.
The compensation details are given below: PB3: INR 15,600-39,100; AGP: INR 8,000 with a minimum basic pay of INR 30,000 and
total gross salary of INR 98,468 (EXCLUDING HRA). After completion of 3 years of service in PB3, they will be placed in PB-4:
37,400-67,000 with Grade Pay of 9,000 plus allowances. (These details are likely to be revised based on the 7th Pay Commission).
The reservation policy as per Government of India rules will be applicable.
Besides, the Institute provides accommodation on campus, subject to availability, and excellent perquisites, like a three-year block
research grant of INR 4 lakhs, group medical and group term insurance etc. Those considered for visiting appointment on contractual
basis, are also eligible for three-year block research grant of INR 4 lakhs as well as accommodation subject to availability.

CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENT
India Land and Development Conference (ILDC)
Connection, Inclusion, Innovation & Capacity to Improve Land Governance
Venue: India International Center, New Delhi Dates: 19-21 February, 2018
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we are pleased to announce the 2nd India Land and Development Conference. The 1st
ILDC organized on April 5-6, 2017, saw active participation of 150 individuals and institutions from 15 states in India, and 3
countries. The two-day event witnessed inclusive conversation over eight thematic sessions, two panel discussions and a special
session, apart from two interesting plenaries. Papers presented in this conference are available at land portal and NRMC website.
ILDC2018 aims to connect local and global issues and discourses and focus conversations around roles of technology,
decentralisation and capacity in improving land governance. ILDC2018 invites proposal for papers, posters, displays and sessions
from practitioners, researchers, entrepreneurs, CSOs, private sectors from India and abroad, on research, experiences, opinions,
innovations, technologies related to land governance in India.
There will also be master classes on new tools and technologies around land governance.

ICRIER requires 9 motivated researchers for its large Agri-programme


led by Dr. Ashok Gulati, Chair Professor Agriculture, ICRIER
Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER) is looking for highly motivated, hard-working competent research
professionals, who have passion to work, capacity to persevere for at least 2 years, and are in pursuit for excellence in Agricultural Policy issues on the
topics mentioned below.
Applications are invited for the post of Research Fellows (3), Research Associates (3) and Research Assistants (3).
Topics to work on
1 Issues related to land, water and fi nancial inclusion of small holders in high value agriculture.
2 Making Indian agriculture globally competitive through higher Sustainability, Productivity and Profitability; this area will also cover agri-trade issues.
3 Role of Agricultural extension in helping farmers raise productivity, adopt sustainable farm practices, reducing risk, and discovering best prices
for their produce in Indian Agriculture.
4 To evaluate Indias agricultural growth experience at the National and State levels since the introduction of economic reforms in 1991; learning
lessons and best practices from each other; and to examine the linkages between agri-growth and poverty alleviation and reduction in malnutrition
at state level.
Eligibility
Research Fellow:
Candidate should be Ph.D. in Agriculture Economics from a reputed Indian or Foreign University with a minimum of 5 years of research experience
in the Agriculture Sector and a strong publication record.
Research Associate:
Candidate should be Masters / M.Phil in Economics from a reputed Indian or Foreign University with some research experience in the relevant
field. Scholars in the fi nal stages of their doctoral thesis may also apply.
Research Assistant:
Candidate should be Masters in Economics from a reputed Indian or Foreign University and preference would be given to those who have experience
in the relevant field.

1. RBI CHAIR PROFESSOR [UN RESERVED]
This is a renewable fixed term tenure position for a period of 5 years Pay Band Rs. 37,400-67,000 + AGP Rs. 10,000 [Based on 6th

Qualifications:
A scholar with proven record of research, with a doctoral degree in any area of Economics, with at least 10 published papers in reputed
national/international journals/edited books or equivalent thereof and at least 10 years of experience of research/teaching at University/
National level research institutions in regular position, including experience of guiding doctoral research.
(or)
An outstanding scholar with established reputation who has made outstanding contribution to economic analysis.
Preference will be given for those who have worked in the area of economic growth and development; ability to combine the macro and
micro level scenarios of economic development would be preferred; proficiency in quantitative economic analysis is desirable.
2. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR [RESERVED FOR OBC Category]
This is a Regular Position Pay Band Rs. 15,600-39,100 + AGP Rs. 6,000 [Based on 6th Pay Commission]
Qualifications:
A doctoral degree in Social Sciences or any other discipline relevant to the work of MIDS and demonstrated ability to undertake
independent research.
Preference will be given for those who specialise in the areas of public finance, macroeconomics, industry, agriculture, and urban
development.
