Standards Description

TECHNOLOGY: STL 1 Students will develop an understanding of the characteristics and

scope of technology (MDTE, 2005).
Standards for
Technological Literacy This will be demonstrated during the WebQuest as students discover how
(STL) technology products or process are created and introduced to the through
marketing research and techniques.

SCIENCE: HS- Evaluate a solution to a complex real-world problem based on

prioritized criteria and trade-offs that account for a range of constraints,
Next Generation Science including cost, safety, reliability, and aesthetics as well as possible 3.
Standards (NGSS, 2013) social, cultural, and environmental impacts (NGSS, 2013).

This will be demonstrated during Phase I as students identify a problem

then determines a technological solution. Although solutions may vary,
students will be responsible for identifying their product(s)/process through
sketch designs and surveys as peers analyze a range of constraints.

MATHEMATICS: HSN.Q. Use units as a way to understand problems and to guide the
Common Core State solution of multi-step problems; choose A.1 and interpret units consistently
Standards (CCSS, 2012) in formulas; choose and interpret the scale and the origin in graphs and data
displays (CCSS, 2012).

This will be demonstrated during the WebQuest Phase I as students

reference the Engineering Design Process (EDP) as means of resolving a
real life problem or process with graphs, and peer survey data result
displays.

ISTE: Knowledge Constructor

International Society for Students critically curate a variety of resources using digital tools to
Technology in Education construct knowledge, and produce creative artifacts and make meaningful
(ISTE, 2016) learning experiences for themselves and others.
3a: Students plan and employ effective research strategies to locate
information and other resources for their intellectual or creative
pursuits (ISTE, 2016).
This will be demonstrated during the Webquest Phase II and final Google
